Frequently Asked Questions
Will a heat pump keep my home warm in winter?
Yes. Heat pumps work very well here. The heat feels gentler and more even than a gas furnace, which blasts hot air in short bursts.
How long does a mini-split installation take?
Most single-zone installs take one day. Multi-zone systems with two to four heads usually take one to two days.
My heat pump is icing over. Is that bad?
Some frost in winter is normal, and the unit defrosts itself. Heavy ice that doesn't clear usually means a refrigerant or sensor problem. Call us before it damages the compressor.
Will a mini-split heat my home in winter?
Yes. Modern mini-splits are heat pumps, so they cool in summer and heat in winter, and they handle our coldest nights easily.
